Granny squares have always intrigued me.. They are functional, chunky, colourful, creative, symmetrical, fun… but sometimes they can turn out um.. hideous!
But crochet is so fast, and fun, and mindless. A tick in every box for me, in my current state!
This Pear Tree 12ply that i scored in bags from the Bendigo Show earlier this year have been singing out to me, in their muted soft squishy tones..

A 6.5 hook, a link from Christina, and away I go!

Squishy, kinda ugly, but I’m persevering to make a pram/bassinette/cradle/lap size blanket for baby..

Not neat, but I like it!
The lovely Lucy dyed up some rainbow yarn the other day, and I yoinked the remainder of a ball she was using to make a gorgeous scarf.. muahaha.
And had to make these. Well, this. The second one is next.
And itsybitsyteenyweeny rainbow baby sock!
It’s been a busy week.. a friend had a beautiful baby girl on Wednesday; N and I have both been working hard (Read: testing out the bosses new pool) and more. This week will be equally as busy, Midwife meeting, car modifications (at last!) as well as the normal day to day busy family life.
I’ll try to get better at updating, but things are mad!
More on that yarn splurge I confessed to, back then, before I Got Angry At Apple.
Some 8 Ply cottons.. chosen by Maya (pink!) Me (yellow) and needful lust for something discontinued (red)
3 for dyeing, and one for swatching for T’s bridesmaid’s capelets. The Ruby just wasnt quite the right red..
And a smidge of this.
BWM end of season sale is still on till 11 December, so go buy some yarn!
a very very quick post..
I’m computerless while my beloved iMac is at the Apple Store being repaired. Needless to say, it’s near impossible to blog/pay bills/surf the web etc on an iPhone only! I’ve snatched a few moments on N’s MacBook to bring you this..

A stripy cotton cardi made from Debbie Bliss DK Cotton/BWM 8ply cotton Noir, 4mm needles, with this pattern.
Just have that other front band to go, buttons, and blocking! I made the 12 mos size, but downsized from 10ply to DK. So a fat 9 month old, then
Endless ends to seam in, but the colours are so worth it.
Oh, and what’s this? A squishy white bag found on my doorstep? OH NOES! (Oh, yes!)

It was a sale. A SALE. Yarn diet – broken.
And yes, I’m aware that I totally stuffed up my Blogtoberfest thing. But seriously, are you going to mess with someone this pregnant? Nah, didnt think so..
