This week, I have been making the parcel postie earn his wage. A couple of fibre purchases (There’s no point letting poor innocent fibre sit languishing in someone’s shop, now is there?) and a couple of lovely surprises!
First up, a parcel from the lovely Donna at Randomknits. She knitted a gorgeous little cardi for Tille, out of the SOFTEST hand dyed sock yarn EVER. Just adorable, and perfect for spring over a little dress or top.

Oh, and y’know… just this ole thing. A skein of Plucky Knitter MCN!! Can you say smooshy? Yes. Excessive fondling has been had. Thank you Donna
It truly brightened up an awful week!

And then, I got a Rav PM from someone saying ‘Have you gotten the parcel I sent yet?’ Huh? OH WAIT, this was from a lady to whom I sent a spare part-ball of discontinued Bendigo Rustic, so she could finish a vest for her son. I’d totally forgotten, and it was more a Random Act of Kindess on my part, because I love helping out a Knitter In Kneed. Heh.
What was in the parcel? A thank you note, a pic of her son wearing his vest (Adorable!) and a knitted hat for Tille
So sweet. Thank you!

AND another surprise parcel find in the PO box, another bag full of clothes from Dr Cris for Tille (we are in hand me down heaven) and the crochet hook I left at her place. It’s like Christmas!
See, I always knew knitters are kind folk, but this week has been proof. Thank you, lovely knitterly friends. I hope I can pay it forward soon..
Ok kids, here it is. Rather than post it on Facebook AND Twitter, and keep track.. it’s here.
Not much, but some good yarns that need to move on. They have marinaded too long in my stash!
Prices do NOT include postage. I will use prepaid satchels. Local folk will get theirs in person.

A teeny tiny 50gm skein of bright orange 8ply wool. $2 Great for toys.

4 x 50gm balls of Cleckheaton Bamboo 4ply. I love love love this yarn, but cant knit with it at the moment. Shiny, softer than anything, and gorgeous colours. 2 balls are baby blue, 2 are aqua. $12 the lot. (Crochets well!)

3 x 50-ish gram balls of pink 100% wool. Would felt beautifully. $8 the lot.
First in, best dressed! I will update as things sell
A couple of weeks ago, I managed to get my hands on something I had been lusting after for over a year.. A ball of the EQ Colourway of Kauni Efektyarn. This Danish yarn is just beautifully coloured, but I will confess that it’s shetland fuzzy felty feel has been a little but of a surprise. Not all bad, just not what I expected.

Beautiful gradual colour changes, seen better as wound into a yarn cake.
But what to knit with it?Immediately, I cast on a scarf-sized Clapotis. I thought what better way to show off the colours, and make best use of the metreage? But alas, it was just too small, and I didnt have enough to do the full size justice. So it has been frogged, and put back into the stash to marinade, and for the right pattern to find it.
I also got this in the post from the Book Depository.

Really, really adorable patterns. And not just sushi! Fruits, vegies, and cheese board patterns. Looking forward to making Tille a few new toys!
This is IDENTICAL to my last meret. Same needle size, pattern, lace repeats, yarn.. all apart from the colourway. I have been wearing the ruby one almost daily, because it’s been so cold! I remembered what a wonderful and fast knit it was, so I managed to whip this up in a couple of days.. (ouch, says my arm
)

Sticks: 4.5mm Addi Click – with longer cable to Magic Loop the crown shaping.
Pattern: Meret by Woolly Wormhead
Yarn: BWM Luxury 10ply in Lake.
Rav Link.
As usual, this needed a seriously harsh blocking! I am looking forward to posting a pic of the ruby and lake ones side by side
