  1. Massive Destash

    May 25, 2009 by sunrisesister

If you are on Rav, then you will know that I had a HUGE yarn and fibre destash yesterday! This is partly in aid to raise funds for a certain something I can’t reveal just yet, and partly because I needed to get real, and realise that my fibre stash has to go. Yes, this includes the wheel. I *never* get to spin any more, and I doubt that will change anytime soon! So far I have raised a total of $782!! AMAZING! I still have some beautiful fibre available, so check out my destash page.

I am also delighted to report that the Loom is destined for it’s new home within the next couple of weeks. Also, my wheel will be going to visit it’s potential new home with Kelebek, next saturday!

A very quick visit to Spotlight was made this afternoon, to pick up some interfacing for $1.50 a metre, and a few zippers and cord. I have plans to make some zip-up bags and some project carriers, so stay tuned!

  2. The Toy Society

    December 30, 2008 by sunrisesister

It’s always heaps of fun to make a gift for someone, even more so for a stranger, or someone you dont know IRL. It’s like sending out good karma. Who doesn’t love receiving a handmade toy?!

Kelli sent me a link to the toy society, where members make a small toy, and ‘drop’ it somewhere in public, with a tag and note from the maker. An unsuspecting person finds it, and rehomes it, and reports back to the blog.

So I got to thinking, this could seriously fuel my Amigurumi obsession! I *did* end up getting that seriously cute book (and some yarn!) so I am looking forward to printing out my tags, and making a toy to drop somewhere. I could even get the kids making some little things!

  3. Flat Fats

    December 8, 2008 by sunrisesister

Some of these I scored on a recent Spotlight fix with Kelli, and some are from a trip to the Box Hill branch on a meander today. By the way, their yarn is shite. Even more shiterer than Carnegie.

Anyway, these Flat Fats are a good size for small projects, like reversible totes, library bags, and even small t-shirts or quilted things. Not that I know how.
