First up, a parcel from the lovely Donna at Randomknits. She knitted a gorgeous little cardi for Tille, out of the SOFTEST hand dyed sock yarn EVER. Just adorable, and perfect for spring over a little dress or top.

Oh, and y’know… just this ole thing. A skein of Plucky Knitter MCN!! Can you say smooshy? Yes. Excessive fondling has been had. Thank you Donna It truly brightened up an awful week!

And then, I got a Rav PM from someone saying ‘Have you gotten the parcel I sent yet?’ Huh? OH WAIT, this was from a lady to whom I sent a spare part-ball of discontinued Bendigo Rustic, so she could finish a vest for her son. I’d totally forgotten, and it was more a Random Act of Kindess on my part, because I love helping out a Knitter In Kneed. Heh.

What was in the parcel? A thank you note, a pic of her son wearing his vest (Adorable!) and a knitted hat for Tille So sweet. Thank you!

AND another surprise parcel find in the PO box, another bag full of clothes from Dr Cris for Tille (we are in hand me down heaven) and the crochet hook I left at her place. It’s like Christmas!

See, I always knew knitters are kind folk, but this week has been proof. Thank you, lovely knitterly friends. I hope I can pay it forward soon..

However, there was yarn buying! woohoo!

So many great finds, and some lovely surprises. I even got a (very affordable) swift and some blocking wires too. Stoked. I had some great scores in the BWM bargain room, including some 12ply and some undyed cameo which has a touch of lovely fluffy angora.

And we even had a Dagwood Dog for Kelli xx

Clearly, that isn’t her.

I knitted this while in the car over the weekend. LOTS of driving over a long distance, helping friends move up to the hills (where all the cool kids are, of course.)

I am having surgery on my arm soon, so I am going gangbusters with lots of forbidden knitting/crafting before I have a cast/bandages preventing me from doing anything for a couple of months!

Have just CO on a baby hat for a friend in this gorgeous new yarn from the BWM. Melody is *exactly* like Sublime, and a third of the price. Gotta like that.

I have a few berets to knit, and some girly things for the ever growing baby in these gorgeous colours:

And I promise now that things have calmed down here a little, to post more There is a dyeing day coming up in a fortnight, so stay tuned!

Dear beautiful friends, wonderful family.

Yes, we know. Things are taking their time. And that’s ok, right? They say the best things take time. Like a good meal.. you know something that has been simmering for hours always tastes better than something microwaved for 2 minutes? Yeah. I pride myself on being a good cook.

But you know, the phonecalls, the SMS’s, the emails, the Facebook posts all asking where the baby is, really isn’t helping. I say that with love – we love you, and want you around us when baby is here and safe, but right now, the pressure is starting to cause cracks! Being asked ‘OMG ARE YOU GOING INTO HOSPITAL SOON?’ also causes issues. It’s pretty hurtful, actually. And pointless.. no one I know is sick – why do I need to visit them?

So I give you this:

My baby’s not a library book
so she’s not overdue
My baby don’t take long to cook
coz she’s not veggie stew

So till we have some real news to share.. sit tight and be patient. Be guaranteed that you will find out! It’s not like we wouldn’t be busting with pride and broadcasting it! You wont be left out! We just need to relax and sit tight in our little bubble, and get ready.

A new year is always exciting.. so many prospects ahead, so much possibility. A whole set of seasons to work thru and enjoy, and of course, lots of creativity to plan for!

But first, it’s important to look back and reflect.. so here’s my contribution: A year of WIPs and FOs!

And of course, a few frogged items, a few non-starters, and things I just fell out of love with. But still, not a bad year! I also did some sewing, hand-dyeing, and some other new crafty things. Yes, a Flickr mosaic, not exactly original, and I am sure other blogging knitters’ efforts put mine to shame, but hey, I tried!

What are my creative goals for 2010?

* Cook something I’ve never cooked before, once a month. I have so many AMAZING cookbooks, why am I so scared to try things? It’s not like we are fussy eaters! For Christmas N gave me a copy of Food Safari (sbs series book) which really, I have been lusting after even before the thing was written. 180 recipes just waiting for me!

* Expand my sewing horizons. I’m going to be kidnapping my friend Shan for this – she’s a whizz even though she wont admit it.

* Magic loop socks. Why, why why does this intimidate me so? It would increase my sock knitting productivity two-fold!

I could add something sensible like ‘spend more time knitting, less time stashing’ but really.. let’s be realistic!

It’s very.. nipply. And tactile. You catch yourself squeezing it without realising..

A GORGEOUS green blankie from Christina, in squishy lovely cocoon.. it’s going to be bub’s first blankie! Plus a great singlet, and also a cute little crochet teddy/cuddle blankie from Sally. Teddy has Iona eyes and filling I’ll have you know.

ACDC Singlet, from Shan.. this combined with the other two singlets I scored lately mean that this bub is ready to ROCK!

A wonderful memory book from Shan. FINALLY I have somewhere to put our scan prints. Currently sitting folded in the radiology receipt.. eek! The big book was from another friend/client, and was used in our Blessingway ‘ritual’ as..
