I am whipping up a pair of lovely warm socks for my beloved
His first father’s day as a real DAD (not a step-dad!) I have tried to knit socks for him before, in 4ply Patonyle, but his feet are huuuuuuge, and they never fitted quite right. So I uh.. adopted them. So he’s waited long enough, here is apair tailor-made for HIM!
Pattern: Thuja
Yarn: BWM 10ply Luxury in Black
Sticks: 4.5mm DPN’s
I havent done much sewing of late – getting the machine out, setting it up, threading it, blah blah.. yeah, by the time that happens, the baby’s nap is over, and the window of opportunity is closed. So this was a super-fast project, and finished just in time for baby’s next nap..
We bought her a winter doona (quilt, for you non-aussies) while we were up at the Sheep show from the lovely people at this aussie wool quilt company. But, none of the covers we had for her Ikea quilt fitted. So I dug out an Ikea fabric remnant that I had picked up last year for a few dollars, and whipped one up:

A perfect fit! No cutting required
Very pleased…
Remember that wee cardi I made a few months back?

Well here it is being modelled by it’s recipient, Brendon
Too cute!!
A super-fast knit.. and I still have MORE of this skein left! a pair of large socks, a beanie, and possibly something else (small) – what great value!
Rib was 4mm, body was 4.5mm, and done in a day and a bit.
