  1. Hand Dyed Goodness

    October 29, 2009 by sunrisesister

The amazing Teri has been at it again.. hand dyeing things that are IRRESISTABLE. These fell into my post box yesterday..

    rustic 12ply

200g? of 12 ply BWM rustic.

Yep, more baby things planned. Soakers take up hardly any yarn, so the 12ply will make 2 or 3, depending on size/style.

  2. Summer Knits

    October 29, 2009 by sunrisesister

So, it’s time to dig out some inspiration, and tee up some summer knits! For kids, this means cotton, cotton, and more cotton. OMG, so lucky I have a smidgen of that in my stash, eh!

You can see the list of things I have planned in the sidebar, but I thought a few gratuitous yarn pics wouldn’t go astray..

Most of the above will be knitted into summer tee’s and tops. The Rowan denim is destined to be some Surfer Dude Pants, though! This yarn fades and shrinks with washing, so I cant wait to give it a go.

The licorice allsort top will be a bit of an experiment, but the cotton wont knit itself, so I will enjoy the challenge.

Oh, and I have a spare ball or two of Magicline to be made into upsized Tropical Lily tops for the girls, and baby stuff too!

  4. FO: Rainbow Butt

And, it’s done! Very happy with this, and am glad I added in an extra 10 stitches on the leg holes. Not too many to allow for Poo-nami-esque explosions out the sides, but enough to have the ‘give’ for thunder thighs.

Size small, but upsized on the leg holes. Sticks: 4.5mm and 4 mm for rib, Yarn: hand dyed Luxury 10ply again!

  5. Handspun Stash

    October 25, 2009 by sunrisesister

For full disclosure, can I please report that TWO THIRDS of my Anchor Magicline purchase has already been passed on to others. I am left with a measly 6 packets. Ahem.

More delectable handspun from Caroline.. This reminds me so much of the colours of the bushfires that we experienced here in Victoria in February. Gorgeous! Tussah silk/BFL.
