  1. CFA Torchlight March

    Tonight was a chance for the community to thank our CFA volunteers and staff for all their hard work over the last few weeks. And more, I guess. The visiting teams from Wonthaggi and Queensland were there marching too, and they got big round of applause and thankyous from the crowd!

    So, so proud. Of course, the march was missing someone.. Russell. Rest in peace mate.

    The parade marched from the local CFA station down to the fairgrounds. And while we are on the subject, we have been in this house 2 years today! The sound of the Knox Festival can be heard over the sirens of the brigade going down the hill. And tomorrow, is Autumn.

  2. Possum Rescue

    Well, this little fella obviously heard about the awesome possum pouches we have been making. He was found in the yard, hurt and in shock.. we opened up the pouch and VOOM in he went, and snuggled in.

    We kept him warm, and then took him to the Possum Lady. She’s worried about him, as jis back leg isnt looking good, and he’s in pain and shock. He will go the Boronia Vet for tests, and then see what happens. He is soooooo adorable, i hope he pulls thru..

    If he makes it, we will be able to release him around Christmas time. And before that, we may be able to have a hand in his care – feeding etc.

    The possum lady is lovely – her house is FULL of possum pouches, and the outdoors is dedicated to enclosures full of gliders and other critters. Adorable :) She’s quite literally, a lifesaver.

  3. FO: Boteh Scarf

    When I downloaded this pattern, I almost had a coronary at the sight of the chart. It looked more like a gang of spiders had been dipping their feet in ink and dancing accross the page. But I remembered that crochet patterns always look complex,but arent, so I gave it a go.

    This scarf took me 4 freaking hours. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Crochet rocks, and I dont care if I do it backwards.

    It’s meant to look like falling leaves (It’s a Persian pattern) but I kinda think it looks like flames of a fire. Orange isnt my usual colour, but I am giving it a go.
